William (Bill) C. Boehm started The Singing Angels in 1964 to promote the action and joy of singing quality music, particularly among children. Bill brought to the Angels an extensive career in the theater industry, having made more than 5.000 personal stage appearances, including starring in Herman Pirchner's Alpine Village, and serving as the first staging director of Cleveland Music Carnival Arena Theater. For his founding leadership and work with The Singing Angels, Bill was awarded the prestigious Ohio State Governors Award for "excellence of achievement benefiting mankind and improving the quality of life for all Ohioans" and the 2016 Cleveland Art's Prize's Martha Joseph Prize
Mr. Boehm's lifetime of service to this community treasure has educated and trained another generation about what it takes to make a success of this very special group. His motto "make music, make friends, make a difference" is been carried out under the guidance of many alumni throughout the decades, and his values and the lessons learned from him will continue to guide and teach all who are a part of this organization.
